Manchester United Left Back Target Keen To Reunite With Ruben Amorim

Manchester United are advancing in their pursuit of signing a left back as early as the January transfer window. Ruben Amorim is eager to recruit in such a key position in his system.

United currently only have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia available as natural left backs at senior level. Harry Amass has been outlined as one for the future but could be set to leave United on loan this January, according to reports.

Diogo Dalot and Malacia have been operating in the position under Amorim so far. United are keen on bringing in a new left wing back in the upcoming winter transfer window.

A number of options have been outlined for the position, these include; Alphonso Davies, Miguel Gutierrez and Nuno Mendes. The latter is becoming a real target for United and has played under Amorim at Sporting.

According to a new report from reliable journalist Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport;

Manchester United have made an offer for Nuno Mendes, and the player is said to be keen on joining Ruben Amorim.

As things stand, Nuno Mendes wants to leave PSG with his current contract set to expire in 2026.

Reports suggest that Mendes is looking to reunite with his former boss and is still yet to sign a new deal in Paris. Despite the French giants remaining confident the player will sign a new deal, the full back is said to be assessing his options.

Another report via UtdXclusive goes on to say that United have already agreed personal terms with Mendes.

However, fans will have doubts cast into their minds following reports that state United will not be spending in the upcoming window. The club are said to be short of any transfer funds for the window that opens in five days' time.
