Manchester United Trio Of Stars Potentially On The Move

Three of Manchester United’s academy products are now heavily linked with possible moves. The three players linked with moves are Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo.

Marcus Rashford has often been on the front pages of newspapers in recent years for various reasons. However, currently, he is in the limelight due to being heavily tied to a move away from Old Trafford.

During his time at senior level at his boyhood club, Rashford has 214 goal contributions in 469 appearances, playing a crucial role in United's success in winning several major trophies.

So, this rumoured move from Manchester is not about his past impact but a response to his recent poor run of form. This, combined with him falling out of favour, has resulted in only three starts under new boss Ruben Amorim.

Additionally, Amorim seemingly wants to target new additions to the squad in the transfer window. To comply with FFP regulations, United must sell players to finance new signings, following recent significant expenditures under Ten Hag.

Rashford Attracting European Interest

The clubs pursuing Rashford's signature include Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Juventus, and Galatasaray. However, the Turkish giant was reportedly turned down by Rashford after an initial approach, as he is rumoured to be targeting a move to one of the top five European leagues.

AC Milan are currently the frontrunners for the attacker, with former United striker Zlatan Ibrahimović playing a vital role in negotiations.

This move for Rashford would be very understandable, as he seems very unhappy and unable to regain his once excellent form due to recent treatment within the media and even fanbases.

A move from his childhood club would be in his best interest to allow him to regain his form and attain the minutes he is capable of playing at the top level.

Garnacho On The Move?

Alejandro Garnacho is also being linked with a possible move. The Argentine has 62 goal contributions in 166 senior appearances at United, winning the Puskas Award, an FA Cup, and an EFL Cup during his time in Manchester.

Nonetheless, Garnacho is up for sale following a report stating that Manchester United would reluctantly be open to offers for the youngster. This is in response to the Argentinian national not receiving significant game time, leading to reports that Garnacho feels frustrated.

The clubs showing interest in the winger are some of the biggest teams in the world, such as Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.

A move to such clubs might be largely beneficial to Garnacho, allowing him to play at the highest level with a fresh start. On the other hand, if he were to join such a high-level club, it is arguable whether he will receive as much game time as he wants, possibly leading to the same issue he currently has at United.

So, it may be in his best interest to continue his fight for a place in Amorim’s XI, develop further, and wait for a move in later years.

Mainoo Is Not Untouchable

Another fantastic talent linked with an exit from the Red Devils is Kobbie Mainoo. A 19-year-old who has made 49 senior appearances for both club and country, won an FA Cup with United, and reached the final of the Euros with England.

Once again, this possible transfer is a reluctant one, rumoured to have come about partially due to halted negotiations for a new contract and also to raise profits and allow Amorim to bring in his own players while not breaking FFP rules.

It must also be noted that the sale of ‘home-grown’ players means the profit margins of a transfer fee are much higher. The sale of Mainoo will allow much more freedom for Amorim.

However, Mainoo is already a key player within this United side and has the talent to develop into one of the best midfielders in the world. So, it may be beneficial for the Red Devils to work on a revised contract to keep Mainoo at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, the club is open to offers, and the club currently leading the line for the England national is Premier League opposition, Chelsea. The London side has made initial contact with Mainoo, and a move south is a possibility at this moment.

In conclusion, Manchester United currently need to offload certain players to make way for Amorim’s development programme. But it must be seriously considered whether these players should be allowed to leave, and if so, how much it would require.
