Premier League Darts 2025 Lineup Prediction

Just one game remains in the 2025 World Darts Championship, the final which sees Luke Littler take on Michael Van Gerwen. Following the conclusion of tonight's tournament, fans will be excited for the Premier League of darts kicking off next month.

The Premier League returns to our screens every Thursday night with 8 of the world's best darts players taking to the stage. Last year's competition was won by Luke Littler, who defeated current World Number One Luke Humphries in the final at The O2.

Following on from a number of huge results at this years World Championship, a number of players are unlikely to feature in this years Premier League. Michael Smith who was automatically locked into the lineup last year, is now a doubt.

Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright are two other names from last years lineup that aren’t guaranteed to feature in the 8 player selection.

Which Four Players Are Guaranteed?

The top four ranked players in the PDC Order Of Merit are locked in to this years lineup for the Premier League of Darts.

Fans will be treated to Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Michael Van Gerwen and Rob Cross each and every Thursday night.

Littler will be looking to make it back to back Premier League titles whilst Humphries will be on a quest to return to top form following his exit from the Worlds against Peter Wright.

Van Gerwen and Cross always put on a show in the Premier League and are two fantastic players to be involved in the weekly action.

Who Will Be The Four Wildcards?

The most enjoyable part about the preparation for the Premier League of Darts each year is the selection of the final four players to complete the lineup.

Many people on social media are posting their lineup predictions ahead of the announcement of the Premier League, below you can find who makes our selection.

Stephen Bunting

The Bullet made it to the Semi Final of the Worlds, getting knocked out of the tournament by Littler. Bunting also won the Masters in 2024 and has been labelled as ‘the Peoples Champion’ due to his popularity amongst fans.

Now ranked number 5 in the PDC Order Of Merit, Bunting deserves his chance to entertain across Europe as part of the Premier League lineup. A selection that would further the growth of darts into 2025.

Gerwyn Price

Possibly a more controversial selection for this years lineup due to his performances across the calendar year of 2024. However, Price is Priceless - both his ability and entertainment factor is a no brainer for the weekly competition.

It was a close call between both the Iceman and fellow countryman Jonny Clayton. However, Price’s victory over the Ferret at this years Worlds just edged his selection in our lineup for the competition.

Chris Dobey

Dobey achieved his best finish at the Worlds by making it to the Semi Final on Thursday evening. Despite losing to MVG, Dobey displayed he has the ability to compete with the big hitters in the PDC with strong averages throughout his run.

Having moved up 5 places in the order of merit, Dobey now sits in the top 10 amongst the worlds best and is more than deserving of a spot in this year's lineup.

Damon Heta

The 8th and final spot was an incredibly hard choice. So many players were available to choose from, including Nathan Aspinall, Mike De Decker, Peter Wright and more.

However, Heta provides a fantastic entertainment factor and has really won the hearts of the crowds. The Aussie is now ranked 8th in the order of merit and hit a nine darter at the Worlds.

Despite being knocked out in Round 3 at Ally Pally, the Heat made it to the semi final of the UK Open and the last 8 at the World Matchplay. Heta deserves a chance to showcase his ability on a weekly basis and brings a fun factor to proceedings.
