Riyadh Season Snooker Championship 2024: Preview And How To Watch

The Riyadh Season Snooker Championship will soon be underway in Saudi Arabia.

The competition is invitational and will feature the top ten players in world snooker and two wild cards from the tournament’s home country.

The matches will have one key difference from what is usually expected in a snooker match. The tournament will feature a golden snooker ball worth 20 points, pottable only if a player completes a break of 147 - bringing the highest possible break to 167.

The Draw

The draw is as follows, with seeded players skipping certain rounds depending on their world ranking:

Round one - 18th December from 2pm

Match one: Ding Junhui vs. Abdulraouf Saigh (Wildcard)

Match two: Zhang Anda vs. Ahmed Aseeri (Wildcard)

Round two - 18th December from 7pm

Match three: Shaun Murphy vs. winner of match one

Match four: Luca Brecel vs. winner of match two

Quarter-finals - 19th December from 2pm and from 7pm

Match five: Mark Selby vs Mark Allen

Match six: Kyren Wilson vs winner of match four

Match seven: Judd Trump vs. Mark Williams

Match eight: Ronnie O’Sullivan vs. winner of match three

Semi-finals - 20th December from 2pm

Match nine: winner of match five vs winner of match eight

Match ten: winner of match six vs winner of match seven

Final - 20th December from 7pm

Viewers will especially be looking forward to the big matchups like Trump versus Williams and Selby versus Allen.

Fans will also be looking forward to seeing seven-time World Champion O’Sullivan back in action after he backed out of the Scottish Open early.

The last Riyadh Season Championship saw O’Sullivan beat Luca Brecel 5-2 in the final.

Prize Money

The winner will receive a prize of £250,000, with a total of £785,000 being spread out as follows:

Winner: £250,000

Runner-up: £125,000

Semi-finals: £75,000

Quarter-finals: £50,000

Round two: £25,000

Round one: £5,000

There will also be a huge prize of £1,000,000 given out to anyone who pots the golden ball and completes a break of 167
