Marcus Rashford Nearing Manchester United Exit
Marcus Rashford appears to be closing in on an eventual exit from Old Trafford. The Englishman who has come through the Manchester United academy and made his name as a regular in United’s first team over the years is now edging closer to leaving his boyhood club.
Rashford was omitted from United’s matchday squad for Sunday’s Manchester Derby. United were victorious thanks to a late winner from Amad Diallo.
The forward is now 27 and isn’t anywhere near his best level at the moment and hasn’t been for some time. A number of players including Amad are currently outshining Rashford in United’s attacking areas.
According to a report from Jamie Jackson and multiple other outlets;
“Marcus Rashford has been put up for sale. Manchester United are ready to sell him in January. Ruben Amorim has decided he needs to leave. The feeling at the club is that Rashford’s time is up.”
United’s reason for wanting to sell Rashford falls under a number of factors including on pitch form and standards of behaviour off the pitch. Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports spoke on the situation, stating;
“Marcus Rashford faces a challenge to save his Manchester United future, with the club willing to cut ties with the forward if he does not elevate his standards on and off the pitch.”
New United boss Ruben Amorim demands high standards and those behind the scenes at the club are also looking to cut out old habits and culture at the club.
Rashford has often been criticised for his lack of effort on the pitch during games. The forward could majorly benefit from a new challenge elsewhere to potentially save his career.
Clubs such as Barcelona, PSG and even United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal hold an interest in the forward. United would be looking for around £40-55million to part ways with Rashford.
