Manchester City v Manchester United - Preview
A must win Manchester Derby awaits at the Etihad Stadium this Sunday. Both sides could majorly benefit from taking all three points due to poor form.
Pep Guardiola is currently undergoing his worst ever spell as City boss. His side have won just once in their last ten games which for any other manager in the division is a sackable run of form.
Life at Old Trafford hasn’t been an easy start for Ruben Amorim. The former Sporting boss has seen a major mix of performances from his side.
United returned to winning ways with a European victory away at Viktoria Plzen on Thursday. However, in the Premier League the Red Devils have lost their last two, including defeat against Nottingham Forest at home.
Both sides have individuals that are more than capable of stealing the spotlight on Sunday. City will look at starman Erling Haaland to make the difference with United hoping Amad Diallo can continue his fine run of form under the new manager.
Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa - Preview
A key fixture in the battle for the top four sees Forest host Villa in the late kick off on Saturday. Forest have been incredibly impressive so far this season.
Despite Villa not being as consistent as last campaign, Unai Emery’s side only find themselves two points off the Champions League places. An incredibly even contest on paper could steal the show this weekend.
Chris Wood has been in fine form for Forest this season so far, already scoring 10 goals. Goalkeeper Matz Sels has also impressed and has kept five clean sheets, just one less than Andre Onana who tops the rankings.
Ollie Watkins has scored 7 times for Villa in the league so far in this campaign. Jhon Duran has also stolen headlines with his fantastic form as a substitute.
Brighton v Crystal Palace - Preview
Another of the weekends derbies sees Brighton host Palace at the Amex. Fabian Hürzeler’s side find themselves in the top 7 whereas their opponents sit just four points above the bottom 3.
Despite a poor campaign so far, Palace will carry some momentum from their previous fixture. A point against City will surely give the squad a boost of morale ahead of the trip along the M23.
Danny Welbeck has six goals for Brighton so far this season, with Brazilian forward Joao Pedro also finding the net on four ocassions. Jean-Philippe Mateta leads the scoring for the eagles with 4 goals so far this season.
A huge game for both sides given their positions in the league table, another fixture which could really steal the spotlight this weekend.
